I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including person-centred, CBT, systemic therapy, transactional analysis, and solution-focused work.

Hypnotherapy
What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Behavioral Hypnotherapy is unique as it combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Hypnosis.
Let me explain further:
CBT is widely regarded as the go-to treatment for various issues by the National Institute for Health and Excellence (NICE).
Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary therapy, which is also being recognised as having an evidence base, that uses hypnosis to help individuals make positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, or behaviours. It involves guiding someone into a deeply relaxed, focused state, where the mind is more open to positive suggestions. These therapeutic suggestions, based on our discussions, might include new ways of thinking or behaving, tailored to the issue you're working on—like quitting smoking, overeating, trauma, reducing anxiety, or overcoming a phobia. Whilst the results can be powerful, clients remain in total control and are aware at all times.
The two combined therefore is extremely useful because it utilises the structured, evidence-based strategies of CBT with the deep-focus, therapeutic suggestion-based power of hypnothertherapy. This integration creates a therapeutic approach that can be more efficient, engaging, and effective for some people than either method alone.

Trauma Treatment
Trauma-informed practice isn't a specific technique—it's a way of working that recognizes how trauma can affect someone’s thoughts, emotions, behaviour, and even physical health.
Trauma informed practice combined with Counselling and therapeutic techniques goes deeper into the healing work. It offers a safe space to:
Process and make sense of trauma, Regulate overwhelming emotions, Rebuild self-esteem, identity, and relationships, Learn coping strategies and grounding techniques, learn to become aware of the body and what it is experiencing.
These are designed to help process trauma safely and at your own pace—not by rehashing everything, but by working with your nervous system, body, thoughts, and emotional responses.
🧠 Why it works:
Trauma often gets stored in the body and nervous system. Counselling (especially trauma-informed counselling) helps you:
Reclaim a sense of control, reduce shame and isolation, understand that healing is possible—because trauma may be part of your story, but it doesn’t have to define you.
Creates safety: Emotional and psychological safety is prioritized, so clients don’t feel judged, re-triggered, or overwhelmed.
Builds trust: Practitioners are careful, respectful, and empower clients to make choices, helping to rebuild a sense of control.
Avoids re-traumatization: This approach is sensitive to triggers and avoids pushing people to relive painful events before they’re ready.
Validates and normalizes: A trauma-informed lens helps clients understand that their reactions (like hypervigilance or numbness) are normal responses to abnormal events.
Counselling
Counselling is one of the few places where individuals are genuinely heard without judgment. It’s not about fixing someone—it’s about walking alongside as they rediscover their own resources, resilience and clarity.
Sometimes, simply talking things through is the way forward.
It can be hard to find the space to express yourself freely—to say things out loud, test out thoughts, or explore feelings without fear of judgment or consequence.
In everyday life, we often have to juggle other people’s needs alongside our own. The people closest to us might be the hardest to talk to—maybe out of fear of upsetting them, or because the relationship feels too important to risk.
You might have things on your mind that never seem to get airtime. Or maybe you can talk to others, but don’t want your issue to become a constant topic in your everyday relationships.
When problems keep circling in your head with no clear way out, it can be exhausting. That mental noise can wear you down and affect your mood, motivation, and confidence.
Counselling offers a different kind of space—just for you. A space where you can speak freely, be heard, and then leave the weight of those thoughts behind when you walk out the door. That kind of release can be deeply grounding. It helps restore a sense of clarity, connection, and self-respect.
How Counselling for Teens Differs from Adult Therapy
Supporting teenagers through counselling is a unique process. While it shares the same foundation as therapy for adults—offering a safe space to explore emotions and build resilience—it’s tailored to meet teens where they’re at developmentally and emotionally.
💬 Communication Looks Different
Teens are often still learning how to name and navigate complex feelings. Some are talkative, while others may need more time or alternative ways to express themselves. I use age-appropriate, creative approaches (like metaphors, journaling, or visual tools) to help them open up in a way that feels comfortable and natural.
🧠 They’re Figuring Themselves Out
Adolescence is full of big transitions—identity, friendships, school pressure, family dynamics, and emotional ups and downs. Therapy for teens focuses on helping them build confidence, manage stress, and develop healthy coping skills. It’s less about “fixing problems” and more about supporting their growth and self-understanding.
🤝 Building Trust is Key
Teens may be cautious at first. A big part of the process is creating a space where they feel respected, listened to, and not judged. Once trust is built, the therapeutic work becomes more meaningful and effective.
👪 You’re Part of the Picture—But with Boundaries
You’re Part of the Picture—But with Boundaries
Your support is crucial. While therapy is confidential to respect your teen’s privacy, if there are any concerns about their safety or wellbeing, I will always ensure you’re informed as soon as possible. Together, we can work to address any challenges and keep your teen supported in the best way possible.
Couple Counselling: Supporting Relationships to Grow and Heal
Relationships face challenges. Whether it's communication breakdowns, recurring conflicts, or navigating major life changes, couples often reach a point where they need support to reconnect, understand each other, and build stronger foundations. My approach to couple counselling is rooted in empathy, active listening, and helping both partners feel heard and understood.
💬 How I Work with Couples
Creating a Safe Space: The first step in couple counselling is creating a neutral, non-judgmental space where both partners feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. This is crucial in fostering open, honest communication.
Understanding Dynamics: I help couples understand the patterns in their relationship—whether it’s how they communicate, manage conflict, or express emotions. We work together to identify any barriers that are hindering connection.
Building Healthy Communication Skills: Often, couples struggle with how to communicate effectively, especially during stressful moments. I guide partners in learning techniques for active listening, expressing needs without blame, and resolving conflicts respectfully.
Personal and Shared Growth: While we work on the relationship as a whole, I also support each partner in understanding their own needs, desires, and personal growth. This enables both individuals to bring their best selves to the relationship, enhancing the partnership as a whole.
Corporate Counselling
Supporting Employee Wellbeing and Organizational Health
In today’s fast-paced and high-pressure work environment, employee wellbeing is critical for both individual success and organizational growth.
Corporate counselling offers a confidential space where employees can address personal or work-related challenges, develop coping strategies, and improve mental health, ultimately enhancing productivity, morale, and overall workplace harmony.
🏢 How I Work with Organizations and Employees
Confidential One-on-One Sessions: I provide confidential, accessible counselling sessions for employees, allowing them to discuss stress, anxiety, burnout, interpersonal issues, or any personal concerns affecting their work life.
Workplace Wellbeing Programs: I also offer tailored workshops or group sessions on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, resilience-building, and communication skills, designed to foster a positive and supportive workplace culture.
🧠 Why It Matters
Employee wellbeing impacts productivity, job satisfaction, and retention. By providing a safe space for employees to seek guidance, they are more likely to stay engaged and perform at their best. Corporate counselling also helps prevent mental health issues from escalating, supporting employees in balancing personal and professional demands.
